nein, es ist keine lava-lampe ;-)

ba-ba-banküberfall ist gestern abend fertig geworden. mein finne ist zufrieden und hat sich sogar damit fotografieren lassen. jetzt kann er auch bei -30°C mit dem fahrrad fahren....

die wolle habe ich in meinem lager gefunden und ich glaube ich habe sie schon zwanzig jahre, eine bandereole war natürlich nicht mehr dran. 3,5er-Nadeln und frei schnauze gestrickt, das empfänger-opfer war ja für regelmäßige anproben verfügbar.

i finished the balaclava yesterday evening. my finn is so happy with the thing, that he agreed to a picture. now he can ride his bike even when the temperature is below -30°C.

the wool is a very old find in my stash. there was no detailed information anymore. knitted with 3.5mm-needles and no pattern, as the receipient was available for frequent fitting sessions.

secret of the stole habe ich erst mal in den winterschlaf geschickt, weil ich im moment mehr vom mystic waters projekt fasziniert bin... den ersten hinweis habe ich auch schon fertig.
die wolle ist jamieson & smith 2 ply shetland lace weight von heirloom knitting. ein helles blau mit rotlichen und gelblichen fleckchen drin. eine sehr angenehme wolle. verstrickt mit 3,5 mm nadeln

the wool is jamieson & smith 2 ply lace weight from heirloom knitting, in a light blue with rose and yellow, knitted with 3,5 mm needles. i like it very much.

dieser klumpen ist chrysopolis bis zum zweiten hinweis. gestern nachmittag und abend habe ich nichts anderes gestrickt und endlich den zweiten teil fertig bekommen. nur noch zwei teile zurück...

zwei stränge lorna's laces shepherd sock in der farbe "river" hatte ich. die farben fand ich klasse, aber in einem strang waren viele halbentdrehte stellen. ich hoffe jetzt mal, daß das nur ein einzelfall ist, sonst ist die wolle ziemlich teuer...
abgesehen davon hat sie sich prima verstricken lassen und nach dem waschen ist sie auch herrlich weich und kuschelig geworden.

i owned two skeins of lorna's laces shepherd sock in the colour "river". i really liked the colours, but one skein had quite a few of half-unravelled spots. i hope that this was a single bad skein, otherwise this yarn is quite expensive - at least here in europe...
but nevertheless this yarn was a joy to knit and the socks are really soft after the first washing.

heute sind zwei teile fertig geworden.

die drops tasche mit zopfmuster 98-54 aus 250 gr wolle und aus dem übrig gebliebenen knäul calorimetry aus der knitty.com
calorimetry war besonders schnell. die berechnungen und maschenprobe (12 maschen/10 reihen) habe ich gestern abend gemacht und gestrickt habe ich es heute nachmittag.
die tasche ist ca 40cm x 27cm groß

beides ist aus rödel-wolle - göteborg. ich hatte 6 knäul. die tasche wurde mit 5er nadeln und calorimetry mit 4er nadeln gestrickt. bei beiden projekten mußte ich etwas umrechnen, das ergebnis ist aber bei beiden ok.
nachdem ich schon im vorfeld gelesen hatte, das calorimetry recht groß ausfällt, habe ich es minimal kleiner berechnet und jetzt passt es hervorragend. selbst mein finne findet, es passt zu mir...

today i finished two projects.

the drops cabled bag 98-54 and calorimetry from knitty.
calorimetry was especially fast. i did the swatch (12 sts and 10 rows) and the calculations yesterday evening and knitted it this afternoon.

both projects are made of rödel-wolle - göteborg. i had 6 skeins, the bag used 5 and with the remaining one i knitted calorimetry.
i read before i started that calorimetry is usually too large, so i calculated it a little bit smaller. it fits perfectly. even my finn thinks it looks nice...
the size of the bag is approx. 16 in x 11 in.

ich mag diese farbe wirklich sehr. es ist ein richtig schönes leuchtendes blau/grün/türkis.

i really like this colour. it is a really bright blue/green/turquoise.

ein schwerer fall von starteritis hat mich befallen...

i suffer from a severe case of starteritis...

tasche mit zopfmuster von drops / cabled bag by drops


das muster gibts hier. die wolle ist göteborg von wolle rödel, 50% wolle, 50% polyacryl. ich habe den anfang anders gestrickt als angegeben und den kraus-rechts-boden flach gestrickt und dann maschen aus den rändern aufgenommen um in runden weiter zu stricken. das spart eine naht.

the pattern can be found here. the wool is from germany. i changed the beginning and knitted the garter stitch bottom flat, then picked up stiches around the edges to continue in the round. saves me from sewing...


armstulpen / armwarmers


aus regia 6-fädig. da alle meine jacken keinen gummizug am ärmel haben und ich viele shirts mit 3/4-ärmeln habe, zieht es immer an den unterarmen...

made of regia 6-ply. because all may winter jackets have no elastic at the sleeve-ends and most of my shirts have 3/4-sleeves, my arms are cold.


balaclava


da wir auch dieses jahr wieder temperaturen um die -20°/-30° erwarten und mein finne fest entschlossen ist, auch im winter mit dem fahrrad zu fahren, hat er mich gefragt, ob ich ihm nicht eine "bankräuber"-mütze stricken könnte, damit sein gesicht nicht einfriert....
die wolle habe ich mindestens seit 15 jahren - glaube ich.

gestrickt aus 1465 g 3-pagen-wolle (bourrask, 55% acryl, 45% wolle, 55m/100g) nach einem 3-pagen-muster. die wolle gibts nicht mehr. und 3 pagen verkauft heute auch keine wolle mehr, der homepage nach zu urteilen. das anleitungsheft war vom winter 94/95... 7er nadeln, nie wieder, habe ich mir geschworen...
