gestern mal eben dazwischen geschoben. aus dem buch "last-minute knitted gifts" von joelle hoverson der "children's cotton hat" in der babygröße.
die mütze ist in der "zwei-bis-vier-stunden"-kategorie und das triffts auch so ziemlich. premiere für mich: i-cord. ist zwar nicht schwer aber nach sechzig zentimeter bin ich mir sicher, daß ich das nur in ausnahmefällen machen werde... so langweilig.
100% baumwolle, 4er nadeln.
die maße stimmen, aber es kommt mir so klein vor. es ist schon ewig her, daß ich das letzte mal ein frisch geschlüpftes baby gesehen habe, diese woche werde ich tanja aus dem letzten sprachkurs besuchen, die vorige woche montag eine kleine tochter (3300 g, 47 cm) bekommen hat. hoffentlich passts.

the hat is in the "two-to-four-hour"-chapter and that's about how long it took. a first for me: i-cord. not difficult but oh, so boring.

the dimensions are as in the book, but it looks so small. it was ages ago that i saw a "really new" baby the last time, but this week i will visit tanja, a collegue from the last language course, who got her baby a week and a half ago.
hopefully it will fit.

monstersocken aus handgesponnerer wolle, die wir in uusikaupunki auf dem markt bei einer sehr redseeligen marktfrau erstanden haben. gestrickt mit 5er-nadeln (glaub ich - zu faul zum nachschaune, sie waren auf jeden fall dick), größe irgendwo um die 42 (44 maschen...) verstärkte ferse und spitze. für meinen finnen. ich habe noch genug wolle um zwei weitere paare zu stricken - irgendwann mal.

monstersocks made from handspun wool, which we bought in uusikaupinki on the market from a very talkative marketwoman. 5mm-needles (i think - i'm to lazy to check, they were very thick) size somewhere near 42 (44 stiches...) reinforcefd heel and toes. for my finn. i still have enough wool for two more pairs - sometime.

470 gr fili di casa fendi lungarno in rosa/weiß, 45% kidmohair, 35% baumwolle, 20% wolle (letztes jahr bei ebay ersteiger), nadeln 6 mm
angefangen irgendwann letztes jahr im frühling und dann ewig halbfertig rumliegen lassen

ich habe den mittelteil etwas geändert, weil ich es gerne symetrisch habe und dann die beiden hälften mit three-needle-bind-off verbunden - bei dem mohairgarn hatte ich keine lust auf maschenstich.

2,20m x 65 cm - perfekt für kaltes wetter

started last year in spring and was laying around half finished for ever

i changed the center part, because i like it symmetrically and then i connected the two halves with three-needle-bind-off. because of the high mohair content i really didn't want to try my patience with kitchener stitches...

um beim spannen gerade kanten zu bekommen, habe ich baumwollhäkelgarn eingezogen, gespannt und die stecknadeln dahinter gesteckt. hat hervorragend funktioniert.

to achieve straight edges i used cottonthread for crocheting und put the ons behind it . worked like a charm.
