haben wir einen kleine rundfahrt durch die herbstlandschaft gemacht. es kam dann sogar noch die sonne raus

we started a little round trip to enjoy the autumnal nature and after a while we saw even a little of the sun

und pötzlich sahen wir dies. singschwäne auf dem weg in den süden. ich könnte ja jetzt sagen, wir sind ewig rumgefahren und waren tief in der wildnis, aber... als wir auf der hauptstraße richtung ilomantsi unterwegs waren, sah ich plötzlich rechts zwischen den bäumen einen kleinen see mit weißen punkten drauf. praktischerweise war da auch ein rastplatz und ich habe meinen finnen gezwungen mitten auf der bundesstraße umzudrehen (kam zum glück grad niemand) und zurück zu fahren. auto geparkt, hundert meter durch den wald und tatsächlich. mindestens 50 stück und ständig kamen neue herangeflogen...

and suddenly we saw this. whooper swans on their way to the south. i could pretend that we search for ages and have been in the deep wild, but... we were driving on the main road to ilomantsi and then i saw between the trees on the right side a small lake with white dots. i forced my finn to turn around on the middle of the road (luckily there was no traffic at that moment) and dirve back. we parked the car on the picnic area which was very conveniently there and walked 100 meters through the forest. at least 50 swans and more arriving all the time
