die funktioniert inzwischen so gut, das wir sie wieder ausschalten konnte, und trotzdem noch mehr als zwanzig grad in der wohnung haben.
mit heizung waren es fast 22 grad und das ist uns als untypischen finnen/ausländern zu warm.
der typische finne hat 25 grad im herbst/winter in der wohnung (und trägt ab +10 grad schal und handschuhe draußen)

am ersten september wurde hier in finnland das analoge fernsehen abgeschaltet. bis februar 2008 kann man noch genau fünf sender analog empfangen. das erste und zweite staatliche fernsehen (yle 1 + 2), das finnische äquivalent zu rtl (mtv3), den lokalen lokalsender k5/susiraja und das finnische mtv. ich will ja nicht behaupten, das die jetzt fehlenden sender ein programm hoher qualität gezeigt haben (unter anderem fehlt jetzt die deutsche welle, bbc world, finnischer sportkanal, subtv und nelonen), aber beim durchzappen fehlt irgendwie die abwechslung.
und warum fehlt das?
weil wir, obwohl schon seit dem letzten jahr ständig darauf hingewiesen wird, daß das analoge fernsehen ausgeschaltet wird, immer noch keine digi-box besitzen.
mir ist das zu fachfinnisch (und warum muß überhaupt ich immer alle technischen geräte verstehen und auswählen?) und mein finne hält digitalfernsehen für teufelszeug.
ich glaube allerdings das ich ihn jetzt genug genervt habe und wir am samstag losziehen und nach so einer teufelskiste schauen...

starting with september 1st, the analogue television transmission has been switched off. until february 2008 there will be only five analogue channels left, which are not very fascinating. i don't try to say that the missing programms show high quality entertainment, but somehow it is a little boring if you have only three real choices (one channel is the local neighbourhood channel which shows half the time only static advertisements and the other is the finnish version of mtv)
and why is that so?
because, although there have been announcements that they will switch to digital television broadcasting since last december, we still don't own a digital receiver.
the finnish descriptions are to specialized for my taste (and who says that it is always i who has to understand and select all the technical devices in our household?) and my finn thinks that digital television is an invention from hell.
but now i hope that i got on his nerves enough, that we will go and try to buy a devil's box on saturday...
