und weil das so anstrengend ist, muß man natürlich noch ein schläfchen dranhängen. es nervt nur ein bischen, daß der dosenöffner trockenfutterausteiler gerade auf dem bevorzugten schlafplatz sitzt...

an because the job is so hard and exhausting, cat has to take a little nap. it is only slightly annoying that the human-who-opens-the-cansdistributes-the-dry-food sits on the favourite sleeping place...

long time no eat!

wir waren ausnahmsweise mal in einem anderen laden als sonst einkaufen und da habe ich das



entdeckt....

we were shopping at a different shop than usual today and there i discovered the above... i'm quite happy as it is not a very common sweet here in finland and it reminds me of germany.

500 g mehl
250 ml lauwarmes wasser
4 el olivenöl
1 tüte trockenhefe
1 tl salz
1 prise zucker
1 prise cumin

mehl, salz, zucker, cumin und trockenhefe in einer schüssel vermischen. olivenöl und wasser dazugeben und einen teig herstellen. mindestens eine halbe stunde gehen lassen.
teig auf einem backblech verteilen und noch ohne belag bei 200 grad für 8 - 10 minuten backen.
aus dem ofen nehmen und belegen.
in diesem fall mit einer paste aus tomatenmark, 1 el olivenöl, basilikum, knoblauch, chili und pfeffer. darauf tomaten und zwiebelringe, dann thunfisch, shrimps, geriebenen käse (in diesem fall finnischer emmentaler - leicht 17% fett) verteilen.
nochmal 20 - 25 min bei 200 grad.
fertig!

1 bag/aprox. 10 g dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
dash/pinch of sugar
cumin according to your taste

mix flour, sugar, yeast, salt and cumin in a bowl. add oliveoil and water and knead until you have a smooth dough. let rest for about half an hour.
spread dough on a baking tray and bake - without the toppings - for 8 - 10 minutes at 200° c
remove from oven and add the toppings. in this case it was a paste of tomato puree with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, basil, chili, garlic, pepper, followed by thinly sliced tomatoes and onions, tuna and shrimps. on top add shredded cheese - we used finish light-emmental with 17% fat.
bake another 20 - 25 minutes at 200° c.

während wir im süden waren, habe ich auch endlich mal fiskars gesehen. das ist nicht nur eine bekannte finnische messer- und stahlwaren-fabrik sondern auch ein sehr malerisches dorf.

und weil die da aufgrund der eisenherstellung viel schlacke übrig hatten, haben die diese genutzt und "ziegel"steine daraus gemacht. die häuser da draus sind mit sicherheit sehr stabil

during our stay in the south we visited fiskars. this is not only a manufacturer of knifes, scissors and cutlery but also a small picturesque village.

because there is an old iron factory n the village they had a lot of cinder/slag/bed ash to make "bricks" out of. the houses built of these bricks are really stable...

wir waren für ein paar tage bei schwiegermama in südfinnland, haben zu fettiges und zu viel essen gegessen und ausflüge gemacht.
in der zwischenzeit hat die katze zwei blumentöpfe vom fensterbrett geschmissen.

unter anderem waren wir in uusikaupunki, ein sehr sympatisches kleines städtchen, in dem die nördlichste autofabrik europas (der welt?) ist. auf dem markt wurde ich magisch von einem stand mit wolle in allen erscheinungsformen (ungesponnen, gesponnen und verstrickt) angezogen. und dann bestand mein finne darauf, daß ich wolle für socken für ihn (als ob ich nicht genug davon daheim hätte) kaufe. hab ich dann gemacht und jetzt stricke ich socken mit 5er nadeln... die schwarze wolle hatte ich noch im vorrat

we have been in the south of finland for a few days, visiting mother-in-law. while being there we ate (as usual) to much and to greasy food.
in the meantime - alone at home - the cat destroyed two plants.

among other things we visited uusikaupunki, a very nice small town in which the most northern car-factory of europe is situated.
walking over the market square i was drawn irresistably to a booth where wool in all of its conditions (fleece, handspun and knitted) was sold and my finn insisted that i buy enough for a pair of woollen winter socks for him (as if i don't have enough wool in my stash...). well, i complied and now i am knitting a pair of very thick socks with 5 mm needles... (the black wool is out of my stash)

fertig - endlich - mit clue 4. ich hab die längere variante gestrickt und das hat ewig gedauert. aber jetzt ist der teil erledigt (ohne lifeline, ich war so spät dran, daß ich die nicht mehr brauchte) und ich kann mich an den flügel machen.

die länge ist jetzt ungespannt ca 110 cm, breit ist es 36 cm. da ich beim spannen eher in die breite gehen will, bin ich froh, daß ich mich für die verlängerung entschieden habe


clue 4 finally finished. i knitted it longer und it took me ages. but now this part is over (without lifeline, because clue5 came before i was at that point) and now i can continue with the wing.

the stole is now approx. 43 inches long and 14 inches wide, totally unblocked. i'm happy to have made it longer because i want to block it wider rather than longer, so i will need the extra to have enough length.
